Travelling Oz

12th February 2009.

Due to the fires around Melbourne, we decided to take our time and make a few stops on the way until the danger passes and they get the fires under control.
Leaving the Snowy Mountains, the roads were quiet dramatic and scenic as we wound our way back down to sea level and the town of Eden.

6th February 2009.

Leaving Dubbo, we hoped that we we're leaving the heat wave behind as we meandered our way south to Canberra. No such luck, it's even hotter at 44 degrees and as the caravan park is quiet, we check out all the empty sites looking for one with some trees and the best shade.

26th January 2009.

Arriving in Sydney was the nightmare we expected with all the traffic, narrow roads and the 42 degree plus heat, but we were really looking forward to seeing our youngest son Lee who lives in Sydney.

21st January 2009.

Headed south and stopped in at a few of the coastal towns along the way, but couldn't get into any caravan parks coz of the school holidays, including the other Yamba, so continued onto Coffs Harbour where we eventually got a site for the night.

8th January 2009.

Finally arrived in Brisbane and it's by far the largest city on our travels so far. Unfortunately, we've arrived in the peak Xmas school holidays period and everything is packed, booked to capacity and expensive. Caravan sites at $48.00 per night, wow, most expensive so far on our travels
