We're heading north through Adelaide and Port Augusta to Wilpena Pound to start our adventure in the Flinders Ranges. Sun's shining, it's a good drive, so we're on top of the world and looking forward to leaving the hustle and bustle behind.

The skies opened up as we left Mount Gambier and headed for Robe and it was non stop rain all the way. Fortunately, the skies cleared the next day but we still had to put up with the strong winds. |

Next headed south west to Mount Gambier and the volcanic region. The drive took us through some interesting countryside and although mainly farmland, we went through some huge tree plantations. Mount Gambier, South Australia's second largest city and has many unique attractions around and under in the city. |

Headed inland and what a change when we arrived at Halls Gap in the Grampians. Not a cloud in sight, no wind and temperatures up to 32 degrees, what pure bliss. |

4th March 2009.
Leaving Melbourne, we headed south for The Great Ocean Road which is reputed to be The Best coastal drive in Australia. It 's also rated as one the best Ocean Drives in the world and we weren't disappointed. From the moment we hit the coast, the scenic drive along the twisty rugged coastline can only be described as absolutely stunning. |
